Kits of the same vehicle type only look different. Their performance is exactly the same.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer has 4 vehicle types, and the type alone decides how your vehicle performs. Kits (the body shell) are purely cosmetic, so pick whichever look you like. Here are each type’s stats and how to unlock every vehicle.
- Landspeeder: a hovering car. Available from the start
- Speeder Bike: a hovering bike. Unlocks after 10 events
- Skim Speeder: a low-flying craft. Unlocks after 20 events
- Podracer: a cockpit towed by its engines. From Act III of the campaign

Landing Angle13°How to Read the Stats
- Top Speed
- Top speed without boost, before upgrades
- Accel (Low/High)
- Acceleration strength, with the Landspeeder as 100. Low is off the line, high is just short of top speed
- Braking
- Deceleration when you brake at 241 km/h, with the Landspeeder as 100. For the Podracer, this is the Air Brake
- Turn Radius
- Radius of the circle you turn at 241 km/h with the steering at full lock. Smaller means tighter turns
- Maneuver Radius
- Radius at the same speed when using Maneuvering (Drift and so on)
- Bump/Blast Resistance
- The higher it is, the less you get knocked sideways when hit or caught in an explosion. The Landspeeder is 100
- Start Window
- How wide the Perfect Start window is, with the Landspeeder as 100
- Landing Angle
- How far your angle to the ground can be off and still count as a Perfect Landing
- Your vehicle type can’t be changed mid-tour. You can only switch from the next tour
- Tuning Point upgrades are separate for each vehicle type. Switch types and you start upgrading that type from scratch
- Changing kits doesn’t change performance. There’s no need to spend Kit Points to get stronger
- The 3 Deluxe Edition kits (Darc X, Ciza T and Rak S) can’t be used without the Deluxe Edition
There are 36 kits in total across the 3 types. Apart from the 3 starter kits and the 3 Deluxe Edition kits, each one costs 100 Kit Points.
During a tour, you can fit up to 4 parts to your vehicle to change how it drives (Favors can raise this). For how to spend Tuning Points, see Best Upgrades.
Landspeeder: Easy Handling and Drift Cornering
Available from the start, it’s the easiest vehicle to handle. If you can’t decide, start with this type.
- Hard to knock away in collisions and hard to blow off course in explosions (the sturdiest of the 3 types)
- Its Maneuvering move, Drift, has the tightest turn radius of the 4 types (31 m at 241 km/h)
- Modest acceleration from low speed (about 60% of the Speeder Bike’s)
| Trait | In-game description |
|---|---|
| Sweeping Forms | Turns smoothly with forgiving handling. |
| Strong Structure | Remains stable during collisions. |
| Drift | Use Maneuvering to drift sharply while maintaining speed. |
You can strengthen Drift by putting Tuning Points into Maneuvering.

Speeder Bike: Built on Acceleration and Kinetic Burst
A small vehicle with excellent acceleration. It unlocks once you complete 10 events.
- The strongest low-speed acceleration of the 3 types (about 1.6x the Landspeeder’s). Gets back up to speed quickly after a crash
- Strong brakes, plus the widest Perfect Start window of the 4 types
- Its Maneuvering move, Kinetic Burst, lets you corner tightly, and releasing it gives you a speed boost
- Its normal turn radius is the largest of the 4 types, so it tends to run wide in corners
- Easily knocked away in collisions
| Trait | In-game description |
|---|---|
| Furious Agility | Compact with rapid acceleration. |
| Vectored Thrust | Modulate accelerate and brake to control cornering. |
| Kinetic Burst | Use Maneuvering for tight cornering, release for a burst of speed. |
Raising Kinetic Burst to 10 cuts the time to fully charge the brake by 1 second and gives you 50% more acceleration after you release it.

Skim Speeder: High Top Speed and Knife Edge Cornering
This vehicle is closer to a starfighter than a hovercar. It unlocks once you complete 20 events.
- The highest top speed of the 3 types (306 km/h)
- A small turn radius lets it take wide lines without losing speed
- Its Maneuvering move, Knife Edge, banks the craft hard for tight turns
- The weakest low-speed acceleration and braking of the 3 types. Slow to recover after slowing down
- The narrowest Perfect Start window of the 4 types
| Trait | In-game description |
|---|---|
| Streamlined Intakes | Maintain a high top speed via smooth, wide racing lines. |
| Sweeping Airfoils | Graceful banked cornering. |
| Knife Edge | Use Maneuvering to roll onto a Knife Edge for tighter cornering. |
Raising Knife Edge to 10 almost eliminates the speed loss while you’re on a Knife Edge.

Podracer: Strengths and Weaknesses of the 6 Classic Podracers
A cockpit pulled along by huge engines. It runs in podracer-only races, separate from the other 3 types.
- Outstanding top speed (451 km/h) and acceleration off the line
- Hard to knock away and resistant to explosions. It also has the most forgiving Perfect Landing angle of the 4 types
- Cornering with its Maneuvering move, Air Brake, costs you speed
- A narrow Perfect Start window
- Campaign: from Act III. Failing a Podracer Test (a time trial) on the map doesn’t cost you League Tokens
- Multiplayer: Quick Podrace and Podracing Tour
The 6 Classic Podracers
In Tales of Podracing, which looks back on Sebulba’s memories, you race against famous podracers of the past in Sebulba’s Plug-F Mammoth. Four of them show up in Act III Podracer Challenges, and beating one lets you use their podracer’s colors on your own paint job.
Each podracer has its own stats, plus one strength trait and one weakness trait. Switch to Compare in a table to see all 6 side by side.

Paint Patterns and Colors: How to Get Them
Separately from kits, you can choose your vehicle’s pattern and color. Both are purely cosmetic and don’t change performance.
- Patterns: separate for each vehicle type (Landspeeder 23, Speeder Bike 21, Skim Speeder 23). Not available for the Podracer
- Colors: 61, shared by all 4 types
- Price: 30 Kit Points for a pattern and 50 for a color. Some are earned instead by winning rival races or through your Multiplayer Rank
