In Star Wars: Galactic Racer, Mystery Encounters are the events marked with a “?” on the tour map. A racer or one of your allies comes to you with an offer, and depending on the answer you pick, you gain or lose credits, parts and upgrades.
There are 23 Mystery Encounters in all, and this page covers every choice and outcome. Use the table below to find an encounter by who approaches you and what they want. Recommended answers are shown in red.
For how tours work and the basics of League Tokens, see our beginner’s guide.
Click a row to open that encounter’s choices and outcomes. In the “When it appears” column, “up to” means the encounter stops appearing once you’ve moved past that planet. Dialogue is quoted exactly as it appears in the game, and the numbers in the outcomes are credits.
Character and encounter
When it appears
Recommended
Kestar Bool Demands you pay for a scratch
From the 2nd planet
“Fine. Take the credits.” (2,500)
Kestar blames you for a scratch on his speeder and demands that you pay for the damage.
“Fine. Take the credits.”Pay 2,500
“I didn’t scratch your speeder. Fix it yourself.”Lose 1 ability
“Why? Did your father finally cut off your allowance?”Lose 2 upgrades, and your vehicle explodes at the start of the next race
Pay the 2,500 and you lose nothing else. If you’re short on credits, pick the second answer and get away with losing just one ability.
Kestar Bool Threatens to add more Eliminators
Acts II and III / up to the 3rd planet
“Great idea.” (if you’re not confident in Eliminators, pay 6,000)
Kestar threatens to turn standard races into Eliminators. This encounter comes up once in Act II and once in Act III, and it plays out the same both times.
“Great idea.”Half of all standard races become Eliminators. A little later, Darius Pax (Sebulba in Act III) gives you 1 League Token
“Would a few credits convince you to change your mind?”Pay 3,000. 75% chance the races stay as they are, 25% chance more Eliminators are added (you still get the token)
“Take these credits and leave the races as they are.”Pay 6,000 and the races stay as they are
If you can finish in the top 3 in Eliminators, you gain a League Token without paying a thing. Finishing 4th or lower in an Eliminator knocks you out and costs you a token, so if you’re not confident, pay the 6,000.
Kestar Bool Asks who’s on Pax’s side
After clearing Act II and meeting Goli, Soren and Malis / up to the 4th planet
“I’m not telling you anything.”
Kestar wants to know who has been talking up Pax around the League. Giving him a name earns you 3,000, but whoever you name will get back at you later.
“Soren is plotting against you.”Receive 3,000. Later, Soren removes 1 of your parts
“Goli is bad-talking you.”Receive 3,000. Later, Goli lowers your Battery by 3
“Malis is betraying you.”Receive 3,000. 90% chance Malis later makes you pay 5,000. 10% chance Malis sabotages Kestar’s vehicle in the Championship Race
“I’m not telling you anything.”You get Fractured Abilities, a Faulty Part. Later, Soren gives you 4,000 and 1 League Token
Keep quiet and you get 4,000 and a League Token later. While Fractured Abilities is installed, every ability you use triggers a System Malfunction, and very rarely (about 0.1%) your vehicle explodes at the start of the next race.
Hibi Wants to steal a part from Kestar
Once the Scrap Dealer starts appearing
“Okay, just don’t get caught.”
Hibi spotted a powerful-looking part left near Kestar’s vehicle and wants to steal it for you.
“Okay, just don’t get caught.”80% chance you get a Legendary part. 20% chance prices at Hibi’s Shop go up by 50%
“It’s not worth the risk.”Nothing happens
You get an 80% chance at a Legendary part without spending any credits. Only turn it down if you plan to use Hibi’s Shop heavily on that tour.
Hibi Wants to install a prototype part
Up to the 3rd planet
“Finish the part first, then I’ll install it.” (4,000)
Hibi wants to install a prototype part she built on your vehicle. It’s a part that boosts your Ramjet power with every Takedown.
“Alright, install the part.”Installs a faulty Ramming Jet I (+5% power per Takedown). A little later, it’s upgraded to Ramming Jet II (+10%)
“Finish the part first, then I’ll install it.”Pay 4,000. Later, Ramming Jet III (+30%) is installed
“I’m not interested.”Nothing happens
If you go for Takedowns a lot, pay the 4,000 and take Ramming Jet III. Every tier of Ramming Jet is only available through Mystery Encounters.
Hibi Lets you pick a deal with a new supplier
After finishing your first tour / up to the 3rd planet
“Let’s get the cheap packs.”
Hibi is making a deal with a new supplier and lets you choose whether parts or packs get cheaper.
“Let’s go for some affordable parts.”At Hibi’s Shop, parts become half price, while upgrade and ability packs cost double
“Let’s get the cheap packs.”Packs become half price and parts cost double. Restocks (refreshing the shop’s stock) also get cheaper
“No deal to either.”Nothing happens
You can buy upgrade packs at half price, and restocks get cheaper too. On a tour where you want to stock up on parts, pick the parts deal instead.
Malis Vazosk Lets you choose what he sabotages on your vehicle
From the 2nd planet
“I’ll pay double if you don’t sabotage me.” (4,000)
Kestar has paid Malis to sabotage your vehicle, but Malis lets you choose what he tampers with (or what he leaves alone).
“Don’t touch my ramjet.”50% chance you lose 1 part. 50% chance your steering pulls to one side in the next race
“Don’t mess with my vehicle parts.”50% chance 3 random upgrades are lowered. 50% chance your Ramjet is sabotaged in the next race
“Quit being Kestar’s dog and leave me alone.”90% chance you lose 2 parts and your Ramjet is also sabotaged in the next race. 10% chance nothing happens
“I’ll pay double if you don’t sabotage me.”Pay 4,000 and nothing happens
Pay the 4,000 and you lose nothing. If you can’t afford it, “Don’t touch my ramjet.” does the least damage. A sabotaged Ramjet builds heat three times as fast, which makes it more likely to explode.
Malis Vazosk Offers to sabotage other racers (3-part chain)
After clearing Act II / up to the 4th planet
First offer: “I want you to steal from my rival.” (2,000)
Malis offers to sabotage other racers for credits. Each time you hire him, the next offer follows, and the third one unlocks a Favor.
First offer:
“I want you to sabotage another racer.”Pay 1,000. In the next race, he sabotages one racer’s vehicle
“I want you to steal from my rival.”Pay 2,000 and get an Epic part. In the next race, he sabotages your rival’s vehicle
“I’m not interested in your services.”Nothing happens
Second offer:
“I want you to sabotage the other racers.”Pay 5,000. He sabotages the vehicles of 5 random racers
“I want you to sabotage Kestar.”Pay 7,000. He sabotages Kestar’s vehicle in this tour’s Championship Race
“I’m not paying for your dirty work.”Nothing happens
Third offer:
“You’re hired.”Pay 7,000 and unlock the Underhanded Upperhand Favor
“I don’t want your help.”Nothing happens
On the first offer, 2,000 gets you an Epic part and sabotages your rival’s vehicle too. Going all the way to the Favor costs 13,000–16,000 in total, so pursue it on a tour where you have credits to spare.
Soren Zaks Proposes buying parts together
No specific conditions
“Let’s do it.” (4,000)
Soren suggests pooling credits with you and Ary Quill to buy expensive parts.
“Let’s do it.”Pay 4,000 for a +1 upgrade to all six stats. For the rest of this tour, Soren’s and Ary’s vehicles also get stronger
“We aren’t a team.”For the rest of this tour, Soren’s and Ary’s vehicles get weaker
4,000 gets you six +1 upgrades. On a tour where you’re struggling to beat Soren or Ary, declining weakens them both and makes them easier to beat.
Soren Zaks Offers a podium promise
After clearing Act I, from the 2nd planet
“I’ll finish in at least third place.”
If you finish the next race in the position you promised, podracer Volo Bolus gives you a reward. Fall short and you get nothing.
“I can place first no problem.”Pay 3,500. Finish 1st in the next race to get a Legendary part and your 3,500 back
“I can at least place second.”Pay 1,500. Finish in the top 2 to get an Epic part and your 1,500 back
“I’ll finish in at least third place.”No payment. Finish in the top 3 to get a Rare part
“I’ll pass.”Nothing happens
The top-3 promise doesn’t cost anything, so there’s no downside to taking it. With the 1st-place promise, you lose 3,500 if you don’t win.
Biddy Blas Bets on who finishes first (3-part chain)
After meeting Biddy Blas / up to the 3rd planet
Accept all 3 if you can beat Biddy
Biddy Blas challenges you to a bet on which of you finishes first. The stakes go up every time you accept, and taking all three bets unlocks a Favor.
“Alright, you’re on.”Finish ahead of Biddy to win 250; finish behind and you pay 250
“Quadruple or nothing.”(2nd bet) Win 1,000 if you finish ahead; pay 750 if you finish behind
“Let’s go, taxman!”(3rd bet) Win 2,000 if you finish ahead; pay 1,500 if you finish behind. Unlocks the Racer Roulette Favor
“I’m not playing your game.”Nothing happens (the chain ends here)
If you can beat Biddy, take all three bets and claim the Favor. Racer Roulette is a Favor that gives you 1 extra League Token when you win 6 Sidebets against Biddy in a single tour.
Biddy Blas Hands you a part as a gift
After clearing Act I and meeting Biddy Blas / up to the 4th planet
“Give it to my rival instead.”
Biddy Blas tries to give you an Epic part as a gift. The part has actually been sabotaged.
“Alright, hand it over then.”You get an Epic part, but your vehicle explodes at the start of the next race
“No thanks, give it to someone else.”Another racer’s vehicle (not Biddy’s or Kestar’s) gets sabotaged
“Give it to my rival instead.”Your rival’s vehicle gets sabotaged
There’s no way to turn the gift down, and accepting it blows you up at the start. Pass it to your rival and their vehicle gets sabotaged instead.

If you have 2 or more tokens, “Fine, take a token.”
Ori & Per give you a discount on the Scrap Dealer‘s goods in exchange for a League Token.
“Fine, take a token.”Lose 1 League Token. Scrap Dealer items and repairs are 75% off, and a Scrap Dealer shop opens in every paddock

“I’ll take the part to improve afterburner.”Get an Afterburner part

“I’ll take something good.”Pay 500 for 1 Epic Faulty Part
“Give me your best part.”Pay 2,250 for 1 Legendary Faulty Part
“Thanks, but I’ll pass.”Nothing happens
If you’re buying, the Epic for 500 is good value. Faulty Parts can’t be removed until they’re repaired, and the Scrap Dealer can repair them.
Sen Fira Offers to swap winnings and upgrades
No specific conditions
“I’ll trade credits for upgrades.”
Breaking Kestar’s rules, Sen Fira offers you a deal that swaps race winnings and upgrades.
“I’ll trade upgrades for credits.”Race credits are doubled. Rewards offer one fewer upgrade and one fewer part to choose from
“I’ll trade credits for upgrades.”Reward upgrades are always +2 (occasionally +3), and race credits are halved
“I’ll pass. It’s too risky going behind Kestar’s back.”Nothing happens
If you want to power up your vehicle fast, take the upgrades deal. With either deal, there’s a 60% chance Sen later pays you 1,500 and a 40% chance Kestar finds out and you pay 2,500.

“I’ll trade resilience for battery.”Lower Resilience by 3, Battery +5
“I’m not in a trading mood.”50% chance 3 random upgrades are lowered
Every trade nets you +2. Declining gives you a 50% chance of losing 3 upgrades, so take one of the trades.
Lyren Shok Spreads the word to the fans (2-part chain)
After meeting Lyren, from the 2nd planet / up to the 4th planet
Accept both if you can finish near the top
Lyren Shok offers to talk you up to the fans in exchange for credits. If you accept, a second offer comes along a little later.

After meeting Fola / up to the 4th planet
“Sure. High risk, high reward, right?” (5,000)

Kestar Bool
“Why? Did your father finally cut off your allowance?”

Both of Fola’s bets return more than you put in, on average. If you have credits to spare, go with the 5,000 bet. Fola shows up again a little later to hand over your cut.
Goli’s box is a dud about 1 time in 3, counting both the empty box and the Common part. Getting a League Token out of it is a big win, so buy it when you have credits left over.

FAQ
What happens if you decline a Mystery Encounter?
In most cases, nothing. Declining only hurts you with Ary Quill, Kestar’s scratch claim and Malis’s sabotage. Ary has a 50% chance of lowering 3 of your upgrades, Kestar takes 1 ability, and Malis has a 90% chance of taking 2 parts. If you turn down Soren’s joint purchase, Soren and Ary get weaker.
Is there anything you can only get from Mystery Encounters?
For parts, Hibi’s prototype Ramming Jet I–III. For Favors, Biddy Blas’s Racer Roulette, Malis’s Underhanded Upperhand and Katja Mox’s Second Chance.
Why aren’t Sebulba‘s or Katja’s encounters showing up?
Some encounters only appear after you clear Act I or Act II, and others only after you’ve met that character once. Check the “When it appears” column in the table.
Are there encounters whose results don’t come right away?
Yes. Fola’s betting payout, Sen Fira’s settlement, Katja’s rewards and Hibi’s prototype part, among others, are handed over a little later when the same character shows up again.
For the effects of all 20 Favors and how to get them, including the 3 you can earn from Mystery Encounters, see our Favors list.
